July 2004-present ... Moved to Seneca, Missouri at Five Mile Ranch to initiate a new phase in our breeding program with expanded facilities and services including a stallion service station and show training offerings.
2002-present ... A preservation group is being defined to concentrate on Egyptian breeding including Straight Egyptian, Sheykh Obeyd, and Egyptian/Turfa lines. These will be our primary focus in the years to come. Root stock is being sought for this preservation program. Our current root stock includes a concentration of *Tuhotmos, *Moniet El Nefous, *Rashad Ibn Nazeer, *Ansata Ibn halima, and additional Pritzlaff and Babson lines.
1993-July 2004 ... Shiko Horses Breeding Farm was located in Jay, Oklahoma. Its expansion included Half-Arabian and Quarab breeding programs which utilized top AQHA and APHA Paint bloodlines.
1988-1995 ... The Aequus+/ years ... Aequus+/ was born in 1988. During these years we owned, raised, showed, and traveled with National Champion Aequus+/. He was sold in 1995 to Circle “G” Stables. We moved to Oklahoma in 1993 to establish our breeding program based on the heritage of foundation stallion, Sheikh Ibn Shiko. Today, Arabians, Paints, and AQHA horses have combined to expand the scope of the breeding program.
1986-1988 ... (Arizona) Sheikh Ibn Shiko stood at stud. During this period we took courses at Scottsdale Community College Equine Program, Scottsdale, Arizona, which included Anatomy of the Horse, Breeding, Foal Raising, Nutrition and Diseases of the Horse; and took instruction at Central Arizona Riding Academy in dressage under the direction of Dorie Vlatten.
1980-1986 ... Partnership on over 30 Arabian Horses. (Ohio). Sheikh Ibn Shiko was purchased in 1981. Operated, trained, and showed in Mt. Vernon Ohio. Dissolved with Sheikh Ibn Shiko and retained others (3).
1985-1986 ... Groom and Stable Attendant, exercise girl, and race attendant for Foresees Standard Bred Racehorses. Duties Included hauling, preparation for racing, and grooming at tracks.
1984-1985 ... Attended Ohio State University with coursework in Pre-Veterinary, Art/Sculpture, and mandated curriculum.
1980-1984 ... (Ohio) Trainer and Stable Operator for Tara Lane Arabian Farm, Assistant Trainer for Mir-Roy Morgan Farm, Assistant Trainer and Stable Hand for Serenity Morgan Farm. Also involved with startup endeavors with Arabian racing and exercising thoroughbred race horses.
1978-1979 ... Apprentice to Head Manager at Sitting Rock Arabian Farms (Madison, NC). Duties included daily care, management, training (English/Western/Driving), breeding, and medical assistance. Assigned to Breeding & Medical Department. Was involved in all aspects of natural hand breeding, A.I., collection and insemination, foaling, disease treatment and recognition, and medical autopsies. Assistant to Head Veterinary & Stud Manager.
1970-1977 ... Apprenticeship and Student under Loretta Anderson (Watertown, NY) at Limestone School of Horsemanship, an all-breed facility teaching English, Hunt, Jumping, Western, Saddle Seat Equitation, Freestyle Dressage, Musicals, and Driving. Became Riding Instructor, reporting to Loretta in English and Western disciplines.
Additionally ... Over the years involved in special promotions, exhibitions, parades, 4-H, educational demonstrations, fundraising, marketing and advertising, and graphics for shows, promotions, auctions and sales.
