Patricia and Daryl Scyoc have selected some of the finest broodmares and have several stallions to facilitate their goals of breeding ultimate performance horses for ACTION! That action being English riding, Dressage, and Park as well as Cutting, Reining, Working Cow, and Barrel Racing. Initially Shiko Arabians focused on Arabians but today has developed and grown into Shiko Horses. Shiko Horses now utilizes and breeds Arabians, Quarabs, AQHA, and APHA Paint horses. We are located in the foothills of the Ozarks, just south of Joplin with easy access to I-44 in Seneca, Missouri.

The dream of a 9 year old girl became a realization through the acquisition of foundation sire Sheikh Ibn Shiko in 1981. Years of study into bloodlines and ancestry as well as observation of shows, trends, and Arabian market study have made Patricia A. Scyoc an authority on Arabians, their breeding, and on theories of breeding strategy. She is the successful breeder of Aequus+/ many time U.S. and Canada National Champion Park Horse and Formal Driving Horse. Aequus+/ was planned with three generations of breeding by Patricia and research over 15 generations of pedigree to the legendary Egyptian horse, Ibn Rabdan. Aequus+/ is full of action and trot, very well dispositioned, loved by all who have seen him and a son of our foundation stallion Sheikh Ibn Shiko. Today, we are blessed by God to have been instrumental in bringing Aequus+/ into existence and seeing him accomplish so much! As of 2004 Aequus+/ has been acclaimed the winningest Park Horse in the history of the Arabian breed. Aequus+/ is #1 as an Arabian Park horse!
Sheikh Ibn Shiko has passed the torch to his offspring including Aequus+/ who resides in Ohio and to the 2 sons who have inherited his role here at Shiko Horses of perpetuating the best bloodlines possible and combining NATURAL high movement at the trot, high carried tails, and extreme Arabian type. In addition, the bloodlines have been instrumental in founding and producing Quarabs of extreme athletic ability and type combined with beauty. Only the best of AQHA and APHA Paint bloodlines have been combined with our Arabians for this purpose.

The Arabian breeding program has expanded to include Park horse bloodlines and National Champion lines from Tamarlane, the very first Arabian Park Horse US National Champion through the many greats including *Bask, *Naborr, Abu Farwa, *Serafix, Ariston, Wisdom, *Aladdin, *Fadl, *Nazeer, Shiko Ibn Sheikh, *El Hilal, *Ansata Ibn Halima, *Morafic, *Muzalmanin and so on... So many greats and so many blessed broodmares with incredible lineages! The future holds great promise as we pursue the combining and blending of these proven NATURAL action lines for performance without sacrificing true Arabian type and National Champion heritage. We will be concentrating our Arabians on the Shiko bloodlines that made Sheikh Ibn Shiko the outstanding stallion he was, based on his Babson and Pritzlaff heritage. As of 2003 we have begun a preservation group of bloodlines, Sheykh Obeyd Egyptians, to further the resource pool of the Babson and Pritzlaff lineages that made our performance horses so successful. These Sheykh Obeyd lineages are a very necessary part of our program and the preservation of this rare group of horses with their roots, history and purity is a lifelong dream coming true.
We have selected and chosen to be breeders. Natural, beautiful and athletic horses. The horse is a living, breathing part of us.
