Tool Tip Sample

A tool tip window is a small configurable pop-up window that appears when the mouse pointer hovers over marked text. Unlike the pop-up window (shown left) which must be manually closed, the tool-tip window automatically closes itself as soon as the mouse stops hovering over the text. The tool tip text usually hovers either directly above or below the marked text.

Title Text Sample

Title Text is a small pop-up window that appears below marked text (marked text is text that is underlined like a text link) when a user pauses the mouse pointer over the marked text. The title text pop-up window is not configurable and stays up for a specified amount of time (html default, cannot be reconfigured). If the title text has long content, the reader will not be able to read all of it before the window self-closes. So it is best to use title text for brief descriptions or add-on information. Hover your mouse over the marked text (text links) below to see how title text works.

Note: The underlining in the Title Text Sample links at the left turn green when the mouse hovers over the links. The underline can be any color, or the original link color, or it can disappear during the hovering as in the samples above.

A text pop-up window is a separate configurable window, smaller than the browser window, that will pop up when a link is clicked. The pop-up window can be any size and placed anywhere on the screen in a fixed position from the top left of the window. It will appear over different screen elements, depending on the size and placement of the pop-up window in relation to the browser window. The pop-up window is manually closed after viewing.
